Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar conducted an inspection of the Rajgir Sports Complex on Saturday, accompanied by several officials, including the current MP of Nalanda, Kaushalendra Kumar. The visit focused on key infrastructure projects, including the long-under-construction railway overbridge on the Rajgir-Bihar Sharif main road, the state’s first newly built sports academy, and an under-construction international cricket stadium.
During the visit, the Chief Minister examined the newly constructed buildings of the sports academy, along with the indoor and outdoor sports grounds. This sports academy, the first of its kind in the state, is scheduled to be inaugurated on Sports Day.
Following the inspection of the sports academy and the stadium, CM Nitish Kumar held a high-level meeting at the Rajgir International Convention Center. The meeting reviewed the ongoing development work being undertaken by various departments in Nalanda district.
During the inspection, the Chief Minister instructed officials to expedite the completion of the remaining work while ensuring that quality standards are maintained. The sports academy is being developed to provide world-class facilities, including modern gyms for player training, playgrounds, and accommodation for athletes. The cricket stadium, in particular, is being designed to host international-level matches.
Furthermore, CM Nitish Kumar directed officials to install high mast lights in all playing grounds, allowing players to practice both during the day and at night.
