Patna: Bihar Chief Minister (CM) Nitish Kumar inspected the under-construction Bharat Ratna Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Memorial Park at Nehru Path, where a statue of Abul Kalam Azad will soon be installed. During his visit, the Chief Minister reviewed the progress of the construction work and directed officials to ensure that both the park and the statue installation are completed before Azad’s birth anniversary on November 11.

Kumar also instructed that information about Azad’s contributions to India’s independence, along with his legacy and achievements, should be inscribed on a plaque within the park to educate visitors about his life. Nitish Kumar later visited the statue site of Bhagwan Birsa Munda on Harding Road.

In a media interaction, Kumar remarked that, alongside existing statues of other prominent figures, Azad’s statue will be ready by November 11, coinciding with Education Day, which commemorates Azad’s birthday. He expressed confidence that the statue and park would serve as an educational resource, allowing people to learn about Azad’s role in India’s history.

The park, located along Nehru Path in Patna, is near an existing statue of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Now, the statue of Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, India’s first education minister, will also grace this path, enhancing the area’s historical significance.
