By Neeraj Kumar
Patna: The second phase of the competency test, designed to allow local body-employed teachers to qualify as state employees, has encountered issues in seven subjects. The Bihar School Examination Board, which oversees the exam, has reported irregularities in the question papers for these subjects. As a result, the exams for these subjects will be re-conducted on 13th November.

Candidates set to appear for the re-examinations will receive new admit cards, and further instructions will be provided soon. The board has informed all District Education Officers and District Programme Officers (Establishment) about the rescheduled exams.

The subjects affected by these discrepancies include five from Class IX-X: Music (114), Hindi (101), Home Science (119), Dance (116), and Persian (107). Additionally, the Class XI-XII exams for Home Science (224) and History (225) will also be re-conducted. The Bihar Board cited errors in the question papers as the reason for cancelling these exams, and new exam centres will be arranged.

The second phase of the competency test was initially conducted via computer-based testing from 23rd to 26th August, with around 85,000 teachers from local bodies participating at exam centres across nine districts of Bihar.

Given the need for re-examinations in these seven subjects, it is anticipated that the final results will be delayed. The results of the second phase will only be released after the completion of all the exams, which is expected to be in late November or later.
