Bihar Board Announces Exam Dates for Matriculation and Intermediate, Reveals Prize and Scholarship Enhancements

Patna: The Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) a.k.a. Bihar Board has announced the dates for the upcoming matriculation and intermediate examinations for Arts, Commerce, and Science streams, scheduled for February 2025. The announcement was made by Board Chairman Anand Kishor during a media conference on Saturday, 7 December.

Kishor confirmed that the matriculation exams will take place from 17 to 25 February 2025, while the intermediate exams will begin on 1 February and run until 15 February 2025. Results are expected to be published in March or April. Following the main exams, supplementary and special exams will be held, with supplementary results expected to be released between May and June.

Additionally, Kishor stated that the entrance exam for admission to all D.El.Ed. institutions across the state will be held on 27 February 2025. The language subject examination for ITI will take place on 25 and 26 April, while the Class 11 exams for Simultala Residential School are set for 25 June. The Class 6 exams will be held on 17 October 2025, followed by the main exams on 20 December 2025.

In a bid to encourage academic excellence, the Bihar Board has announced that the prize amounts for top-performing students will be doubled. The top matriculation student will receive ₹2,00,000, with the second and third place holders earning ₹1,50,000 and ₹1,00,000, respectively. The top five intermediate students will be awarded ₹30,000, while the fourth to tenth place holders in the matriculation exams will receive ₹20,000. Additionally, all prize winners will be given a laptop.

The scholarship scheme for toppers has also been enhanced for 2025. Students ranked in the top 10 of the matriculation exams will receive a ₹2,000 monthly scholarship for the following two years. The top 5 intermediate students will be awarded ₹2,500 per month. Over 1.28 million students have registered for the intermediate exams.
