Bhabua, June 12: Aurangabad triumphed over Buxar by ten wickets in the final league match of the Shahabad Zone in the BCA Shyamal Sinha Inter District Under-16 Cricket Tournament, organized by the Bihar Cricket Association and hosted by the Kaimur District Cricket Association.
With this victory, Aurangabad emerged as the champions of the Shahabad Zone. Aurangabad, Kaimur, and Bhojpur each secured 9 points with 3 wins and 1 loss in 4 matches. However, Aurangabad topped the standings due to a superior net run rate (+1.893), followed by Kaimur (+1.433) in second place and Bhojpur (+0.884) in third.
In the match held at the local Jagjivan Stadium, Buxar won the toss and opted to bat first, scoring a mere 82 runs in 34 overs before being bowled out. Rohit Kumar scored 29 runs off 56 balls, while Someshwar Kumar added 16 runs off 39 balls. The remaining batsmen failed to reach double digits.
For Aurangabad, Vishal Satyam took 3 wickets for 13 runs, Saurav Kumar claimed 3 wickets for 9 runs, Badal Kumar took 2 wickets for 29 runs, and Arjun and Priyanshu took 1 wicket each.
