Patna: The Bihar State Under-7 Chess Championship, organized under the auspices of the All Bihar Chess Association, is currently being held at the Bihar School of Chess, located in the Pataliputra Sports Complex in Patna. After the conclusion of the fourth round today, Arush Kumar and Kartikey Kumar from Patna are jointly leading the boys’ category with four points each, while Vanshika Maheshwari is leading the girls’ category with an impressive four points.
By winning both of their matches in the third and fourth rounds today, Arush and Kartikey have secured the top positions. They will face each other in a highly anticipated match in the fifth round, scheduled for tomorrow morning. In today’s fourth-round match, Arush from Patna, playing with white pieces on board number one, defeated the emerging five-year-old player Krishna from Lakhisarai. Meanwhile, on board number two, Kartikey from Patna, also playing with white pieces, triumphed over Vishnu Vaibhav from Begusarai. Six players are currently tied for second place in the boys’ category, each with three points.
In the girls’ category, Vanshika Maheshwari from Patna is leading solo with four points. In her fourth-round match today, Vanshika defeated Devisha Anand from Patna with white pieces, gaining a one-point lead over her nearest competitors. Devisha Anand, along with three other players—Kiara Golecha, Disha Rani, and Swastika Singh—is tied for second place with three points each.
