Bhagalpur: The statues and bust of luminaries and stalwarts installed in public places and parks in Bhagalpur mostly remaining unclean and neglected would be given due attention in future so far regular cleaning of statues and beautification of installation sites are concerned. In fact, no system is in place at present to ensure regular dusting and cleaning of statues and bust.
It is only during special occasions the work of dusting and cleaning of statues and bust is undertaken in city. However, the present dispensation of local municipal corporation taking note about need of regular cleaning of statues and busts apart from cleaning and beautification of the installation site has initiated a move in this direction.
As per information the municipal corporation currently working on plan aimed at cleaning and sanitation works more effective in city by adoption of Integrated Request for Proposal (RPF) Model has decided to include regular cleaning of statutes and busts besides beautification and cleaning of installation sites among works corporation looks forward to get accomplished under RPF model.
The RPF model it may be mentioned is a standardized, comprehensive document framework used for soliciting detailed solutions for vendors for complex projects including technology, infrastructure and services. With inclusion of cleaning work of statues and busts in the list of the works to be undertaken in future by adoption of RPF model there would be no need for corporation to entrust cleaning work of statues and busts to any private agency by floating tender separately.
By dividing into four zones, the cleaning and sanitation work is undertaken in city presently by municipal corporation. Of the four while cleaning and sanitation work has been outsourced to private agencies in three zones in the remaining zone corporation itself manages cleaning and sanitation work. The agency that would be entrusted responsibility of accomplishing listed works under RPF model would be responsible for making available all required resources including work force needed for cleaning and sanitation works.
The corporation as per information intends to complete all procedural requirements by January next year for adoption of RPF model. In all likelihood a system for regular cleaning of statues and busts in city would be in place by early next year with adoption of RPF model.
