Patna: Employees and officials of the Revenue Department in Bihar remain in no mood to call off their strike over pending demands. Amid the ongoing impasse, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Revenue and Land Reforms, Vijay Kumar Sinha, once again issued a stern warning during a press conference on Friday, while also addressing other key issues.
Speaking on the strike, Sinha said discussions had been held with the Chief Secretary and other senior officials, and action would be taken strictly in accordance with rules. “We have met the striking employees five to six times and urged them to return to work. We are prepared to fulfil their legitimate demands as per rules,” he stated. However, despite repeated appeals, the employees and officials continue to remain on strike.
The Deputy Chief Minister further asserted that the striking staff were under the misconception that the government would change. “Our government was there yesterday, is here today, and will continue in the future. The government will function strictly as per rules,” he said. Issuing a clear warning, he added that a review was underway to identify those responsible for any irregularities, and that no one would be spared.
Sinha also informed that a Land Reforms Welfare Programme would be held in Munger on April 4. He reiterated the government’s resolve to make Bihar free from land disputes. Touching upon broader governance principles, he said the government was committed to serving the people without exploitation.
With the Revenue Department employees and officials continuing their strike, Mr Sinha reiterated his warning, stating that a thorough review was in progress and strict action would be taken against those found guilty.
