Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is set to commence his Pragati Yatra, beginning from West Champaran on December 23 and concluding in Vaishali on December 28. The Yatra will be conducted in several phases, with the first phase covering five districts over six days.
On the inaugural day, December 23, the Chief Minister will travel to West Champaran, where he plans to review state government schemes in discussions with officials. He will also stay overnight in Valmikinagar.
On 24 December, CM Nitish Kumar will proceed to East Champaran. He will remain in Patna on December 25 and will not travel that day. The Yatra resumes on December 26, with visits to Sheohar and Sitamarhi. On December 27, the Chief Minister will reach Muzaffarpur, followed by the final stop of the first phase in Vaishali on December 28.
Accompanying the Chief Minister on this journey will be district ministers-in-charge, as well as local MLAs and MPs from the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
This Yatra has stirred political debates in the state. Initially referred to as the ‘Mahila Samvad Yatra’, the tour drew controversy following remarks by RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav. Leaders from JD(U) and BJP strongly criticised Lalu Prasad’s statement, adding to the political buzz surrounding the event.
