Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary on Sunday flagged off farmer awareness vehicles from 1 Anne Marg, marking the launch of the Kharif Campaign 2026.
During the programme, the Chief Minister also dispatched two agricultural knowledge vehicles along with awareness vans for all districts. These vehicles will travel across the state to inform farmers about various government schemes related to the Kharif season and help them stay updated.
Officials said the initiative aims to educate farmers about modern farming techniques for Kharif crops. Information will also be provided about schemes run by the Agriculture Department, including details on subsidised distribution of agricultural inputs.
The campaign will focus on increasing farmers’ income by spreading awareness about digital crop surveys and farmer registration systems. Farmers will also receive guidance on the use of agricultural equipment and the benefits of training and extension services.

In addition, the awareness drive will highlight the ‘Save the Soil’ campaign, promote the use of organic and balanced fertilisers, and encourage proper crop residue management practices.
Several senior officials attended the event, including Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, Agriculture Department Principal Secretary Narmdeshwar Lal, Secretary to the Chief Minister Lokesh Kumar Singh, Special Secretary Dr Virendra Prasad Yadav, Inspector General of Police (Patna Zone) Jitendra Rana, Agriculture Director Saurabh Suman Yadav, and Director of Horticulture Abhishek Kumar, among others.
