Patna: Jubilant scenes were witnessed at the Bihar BJP state headquarters following what party leaders described as an unprecedented and historic victory of the BJP-led NDA in the Assembly elections in West Bengal, Assam and Puducherry. Sweets and traditional *jhalmuri* were distributed, while party workers marked the occasion with fireworks.
As trends showing the BJP’s lead in these states emerged during counting, large numbers of workers gathered at the state office in Patna to celebrate. Bihar BJP state president Sanjay Saraogi, former Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, along with several MLAs and MLCs, joined the celebrations. Enthusiasm among party workers was visibly high.

Party office-bearers and workers celebrated the success with great fervour, exchanging sweets and raising slogans such as “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and “Jai Shri Ram”. They also congratulated one another by sharing ‘jhalmuri’, with spirits running high throughout the event.
Addressing the gathering, Sanjay Saraogi termed the day “historic” and said that people desired a “developed Bengal” under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He asserted that the victory was not merely an electoral success but a reflection of Modi’s visionary leadership, the strategic acumen of Home Minister Amit Shah, the organisational guidance of national president Nitin Nabin, and the tireless efforts of party workers.

He said the victory was the culmination of the dedication, sacrifice and commitment of party workers, emphasising that public trust is earned through service, integrity and hard work rather than rhetoric. He added that under Modi’s leadership, the country had witnessed politics centred on development, good governance and public welfare, while strong organisational leadership had infused workers with renewed energy and confidence.
Saraogi further said the people of West Bengal had shown their intent to move beyond politics of appeasement, fear and confusion, choosing instead the path of development, trust and change. He described the victory as symbolic of the aspirations of millions who see their future in national interest, development and good governance.
Calling it a triumph of ideology, values and the principle of “nation first”, he remarked that the long-awaited change in West Bengal had arrived. “Bengal will now move forward in step with India’s development journey. The state, once perceived to be lagging behind by nearly two decades, is now set to catch up, and the winds of development will sweep through the cultural capital,” he said.

He credited the BJP’s success in West Bengal to the prolonged struggle and sacrifices of party workers, stating that the party was now poised to form the government in the state. Referring to Syama Prasad Mukherjee, he said, “The lotus has bloomed on his land—this is a historic moment.”
Emphasising the significance of the day, Saraogi said it was a major occasion for countless BJP workers across the country and celebrations were only natural.
He also expressed gratitude to the people of all five poll-bound states, party workers and supporters for their contribution to the victory.
Among those present at the celebrations were former minister Rama Nishad, MLC Devesh Kumar, headquarters in-charge Arvind Sharma, along with several state leaders and thousands of party workers.
