Patna: A shocking case has emerged from the Pirbahore police station area of Patna, where a 28-year-old businessman has been reported missing under suspicious circumstances. Aditya Kumar, who is associated with a shop operating near Khetan Market, has been untraceable since Thursday evening.
According to the complaint lodged by his father, Sanjay Kumar, Aditya left his shop at the Khetan Super Market around 5 pm on Thursday, February 19, 2026, to collect outstanding payments from customers. He informed his family that he would return shortly after collecting the dues. However, he failed to return home, and despite extensive searches, no information about his whereabouts has been found so far.
Family members said Aditya, a resident of the Kadam Kuan area, runs a garment shop at the market. His mobile phone has remained switched off since around 7 pm on Thursday, deepening fears of a possible untoward incident. Relatives contacted friends, acquaintances and searched nearby localities, but to no avail. The circumstances of his disappearance have caused anxiety not only within the family but also among traders in the area.
The family is distraught and has made an emotional appeal to the administration for Aditya’s early recovery. Local businessmen have also expressed serious concern over the incident and demanded stronger security arrangements in market areas to prevent such occurrences in the future.
Confirming the case, Pirbahore police station in-charge Shehzad Gaddi said a missing person report has been registered based on the family’s application and an investigation has been initiated immediately. “All possible angles are being examined, and we hope to get some leads soon,” he said.
Police have begun collecting footage from private and government CCTV cameras installed in and around Khetan Market to ascertain the direction in which Aditya was last seen heading. Technical investigations, including mobile location tracking and analysis of call detail records (CDRs), are also underway. Questioning of local shopkeepers and potential witnesses is continuing as part of the probe.
